The Federal Bureau of Investigation released its 2015 crime statistics, confirming that while crime overall is still at a twenty-year low, some cities across America experienced significant increases in homicides in 2015. This data shows we must rethink our approach to violence and how we are enhancing community safety, particularly in the places most impacted by crime. In the cities hit hardest by increases in homicides, violence prevention programs went underfunded.
